BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS

Business Information Systems and Technology Applications is part the Business, Marketing and Computer Education career cluster. Technology has had a significant impact on office information systems and communications. Office automation, the Internet increased utilization of data systems, and sophisticated communications requires office workers that are adaptable, versatile, and technologically literate. Workers must understand and be willing to accept change in the workplace.

Employment for administrative support positions is expected to increase and include jobs such as customer relations representatives, paralegals, receptionists and information specialists in a wide range of businesses. Employment opportunities include careers in administrative support, business information systems, and operations management. Salaries vary depending upon responsibilities and training and may range from $23,000 for administrative assistants to $96,000 for computer systems analysts.
