Public Act 96-0542, the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires public bodies to make public records available to anyone for inspection or copying. There are certain exemptions (exclusions) and rules governed by the Act.

- Print the FOIA request form.
- Complete and sign your FOIA request form.
- Submit your completed FOIA request form in one of the following ways:

Please note that the VALEES office is open during the academic year and closed during the summer months. VALEES follows the Kaneland Unit School District 302 academic calendar. Regular business hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120) provides that all meetings of public bodies shall be open to the public unless excepted by specific provisions of the act.
