Program Description

Digital electronics and microprocessor technology professionals are employed in a variety of electronic occupational environments. Because of the integration of computers into virtually every aspect of business, job market opportunities for these types of technicians are projected to be very strong well into the next decade.

Technicians may work at a help desk to assist computer users with various software- and hardware-related problems: perform installation and maintenance of local area networks (LANs); or provide assistance in the design, manufacturing and distribution of electronic and telecommunications equipment.

Individuals planning to enter this field should have a good math aptitude, good verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to interact favorably with other people.
