Drafting and Design Program Coordinator Roger Sanders Program Description This program offers a complete knowledge of the basic standards and practices of qualified draftsperson including necessary math skills, blueprint reading, design problems as well as an understanding of industry requirements. Many different drafting areas are covered, including machine, civil, architectural, electrical and HVAC to mention a few. The program includes both board and computer labs. The students gain a knowledge of the machine shop and/or the building sites and what is required for the projects to be completed. Upon completion of the program, students have had the opportunity to gain competencies needed for successful employment or for related education in the drafting field. Course of Study Applicable Degrees and Certificates Credit earned for completion of articulated courses may be used as part of the requirements for the following certificates and degree programs at Waubonsee Community College: A.A.S.
