Program Description

    This program offers a sequence of planned educational classroom and laboratory experiences concerned with preparing students for a career in Automotive Technology. Students will learn how to work safely in a repair facility equipped with modern equipment and tools. The program provides skill development by providing students with theory and hands on repair procedures on vehicles. By completing this program, students gain competencies needed for successful employment, or for continuing education in the field of Automotive Technology.

Course of Study

For students interested in a career working in the auto industry, the following courses are offered to high school students at your school or career/vocational center.

    Automotive Technology II

Students, successfully completing the following high school course with a "B" grade or better from a VALEES certified Automotive Technology program, are eligible to apply for college credit at Waubonsee Community College:

If you successfully complete VALEES Courses: You may be eligible for credit for WCC course:
I315, Auto Mechanics II 
or
I125, Introduction to Industrial Tech. (Illinois Plan) 
and
I216, Auto Mechanics Occupations I

I316, Auto Mechanics Occupations II
