NATIONAL TECHNICAL
HONOR SOCIETY
(NTHS)
In the past, VALEES sponsored
a chapter of the National Technical Honor Society that includes
students from throughout in the region. Candidates for this honor were
selected based upon the following characteristics:

 |

 |
cooperation and ability to work well with others |
 |

Requirements:
- Students must carry an overall GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0
scale) including current semester.
- Student must have a 3.5 GPA in vocational school subject
areas.
- Student must maintain enrollment in an approved sequence
of vocational classes. The only exception would be a transfer student whose past school
did not offer courses.
- Students must have had no unexcused absences.
- Students must have had no incidents or referrals reported
to the Dean's office in the past year.
- If a student is a junior, enrollment in upper level
classes of the occupational area is required during the senior year to maintain
eligibility for re-nomination for the senior year. Second year membership is not
automatic.

*Due to the growing number of
inductees, during the 2001-02 school year, it was decided that each school
would recognize their own NTHS inductees. Therefore, after 2001,
VALEES no longer has an accurate record of number of students inducted
into NTHS.
